Hi! My name is Ana Figueiras. I’m a researcher at CICANT and a colaborator of iNOVA Media Lab. I’assistant professor at Universidade Lusófona and, since 2017, I’m guest lecturer at NOVA FCSH.
I finished my PhD in Digital Media at Universidade Nova de Lisboa in late 2016, as part of the UT Austin Portugal program. Since then, my scientific areas of interest include information visualization, narrative visualization, and communication, where I’m particularly interested in visual forms of storytelling. I’m focused on researching and identifying the best techniques to incorporate narrative elements in a visualization and which elements provide effective storytelling. I’m also interested in researching evaluation/assessment methodologies for visualization.
